Samsung is preparing the ground for the launch of the next generation of premium smartphones, Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, models that promise to raise the standards in the mobile phone industry. After a Galaxy S24 series without major changes, Samsung seems to bet on notable improvements, both in design and performance.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S25 series be released?
Samsung used to launch its new flagships in February, but in recent years, the company has pushed the events forward to avoid competition at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be officially unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event, most likely scheduled for early or mid-January 2025.
The design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ remains more familiar, keeping aluminum frames and similar dimensions to previous generations. What sets this series apart is the integration of a more prominent camera module on the back, with the sensors encircled in a black design, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This aspect makes the phones look more robust and modern, drawing attention to the photo capabilities.
In 2025, Samsung is planning a design transformation for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, ditching the aesthetic inspired by the Galaxy Note series. Hard corners will be replaced with more rounded edges and the chassis will be made of titanium, giving it a premium look and reducing the weight of the device.
The screen is one of the strong points of Samsung phones, and the Galaxy S25 series is no exception. Samsung continues to use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, with adaptive refresh rates between 1 and 120 Hz, but adds improvements to brightness and contrast.
For the standard model, the Samsung Galaxy S25, the diagonal could increase from 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches, but keeping the compact format. This upgrade makes the phone offer a more immersive visual experience without compromising portability.
The Samsung Galaxy S25+ is likely to stick to a 6.7-inch screen, ideal for users who prefer a device with a large but manageable screen. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the screen size goes up to nearly 6.9 inches, offering a huge surface for gaming, video watching and multitasking.
For photography fans, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is the eye-catching model. It will have a 200MP main sensor, but with a larger physical size of 1 inch, which means more detailed and brighter photos. The other lenses will get upgrades, including a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a periscopic telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom.
